Most of the proteins serving as building blocks for the organisms of mammals are collagen type proteins, as significant part of the skin, bones, joints, veins, connective tissues and different organs are made of these. So far, 28 types of collagen-type proteins have been identified, however, more than 90% of collagen proteins our body is made up are type I collagen (mainly bones and skin). Type II is also relevant (joints), the rest is of negligible quantity.
Recommended consumption: The recommended daily dosage is 1.5g (=ml, or cca. 1 slightly heaped teaspoon).
It can be taken at any time, with a meal or independently, but the best time is 1 hour before sporting activities, or if you have a problematic joint, then 0.5 - 1 hour before stressing that particular joint (so, for example before a longer stroll). It can also be taken in the morning on an empty stomach. It is worth dissolving it in water or other liquid, because - although it has a mild taste - it’s not really palatable, so it is better to take it in one go.
